I always find that the visual contrasts of a city or place are important to include in your urban photography.
The problem is that most people just walk by great photographic opportunities that are less than the romanticized images we expect to see, or more importantly, pay money to go see.
But on your way to this landmark or that landmark, keep your eyes moving around and look up and around at your surroundings.
This was on taken on the way to somewhere else but it is such a cool shot documenting that everything in New York City is not TRUMP or the Chrysler Building.
So on your next urban safari, and on your way to somewhere else, don’t forget the grunge.
And as always, please help me keep this site alive by browsing through my ebooks or photo galleries of beautiful New York City black and white photography. There you can select a gorgeous high-resolution print file that you can download for only $20 and print it anywhere yourself. And I’ll donate 20% of the purchase price to one of the following global humanitarian charities that you can select on checkout: UNESCO, Unicef, Earthwatch, Doctors without Borders, Human Rights Watch and The Hunger Project
Until next time, happy shooting.
