When you’re doing urban photography, you just have to keep open for two distinctly different elements that converge.
Here’s a great example with some Greenwich Village street photography in New York City. The pedestrian seems to be completely unaware the building is screaming at him.OK, not literally screaming but when you see these faces by themselves, they seem innocuous enough. But when you add someone to the frame, the take on a life of their own.
At least, that what happens with the magic of photography.
So next time you see a cool architectural element, just wait for something great to collide with it.
And as always, please help me keep this site alive by browsing through my ebooks or photo galleries of beautiful New York City black and white photography. There you can select a gorgeous high-resolution print file that you can download for only $20 and print it anywhere yourself. And I’ll donate 20% of the purchase price to one of the following global humanitarian charities that you can select on checkout: UNESCO, Unicef, Earthwatch, Doctors without Borders, Human Rights Watch and The Hunger Project
Until next time, happy shooting.
