Did I just make up the word, ‘abstractism’?
I hope so.
Architecture often requires a more symmetric approach to bring its qualities and design to the fore.
But with this Frank Lloyd Wright landmark design, we can take quite liberties from a simple straightforward approach. Don’t get me wrong, this bad boy looks just great by shooting from conventional angles.
So when you are confronted with architecture that sweeps and moves, go extreme.
Here I went very wide and let the Guggenheim and the neighboring apartment building turn and fold into each other. It didn’t hurt that the Gugge is all sweepy and curvy while the apartment building is completely angular.
And the clouds were just icing on the cake.
So next time you approach architecture, don’t be aftraid of going extreme.
Happy shooting,
Bob Estremera
